Great Egret (Ardea alba) beside the Chobe River. This egret is found across most tropical and temperate regions, including Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas and Australia. The Great Egret in flight is the symbol of the National Audubon Society which was formed partly to stop the killing of these birds for their feathers.
