Namibia is just north of South Africa on the Atlantic Ocean side of the continent.
It became a nation in 1990 after fighting a war of independence from South Africa.
The two ports of entry for sailboats are Luderitz and Walvis Bay while its capital and largest city is Windhoek.
Desert covers much of the country and although it is more than four times the area of New England the population is only just over 2 million people.
We arrived in Walvis Bay in December 2012 and toured the country first with Jennifer and Antonio and later with Kim and Jane.
