When we arrived at Konehla Village of the Danu tribe we had to wash the dust from our feet and legs at the community cistern before entering a house. The dust covered all our clothes too, but we couldn't do much about that. The dry dusty roads and paths caused our feet to dry and start developing painful cracks after just two days. We wore sandals, but wiser trekkers wore sneakers or boots with socks and their feet did not crack. It took many days for our feet to fully recover.
