Cape Vultures (Gyps coprotheres) in iMfolozi Game Reserve. These are nomadic, traveling hundreds of kilometers from their nests. They are very aggressive at the scene of a kill. They go for the flesh of the carcass, using sharp mandibles to eat the softer parts of muscle tissue and internal organs. They can fill their crops within five minutes, enough food for three days. |
