Collared Pratincole or Common Pratincole (Glareola pratincola) juvenile in St. Lucia's iSimangaliso Wetland Park. This species is named for the distinctive black band running under the throat from eye to eye on adults. These birds breed as far north as southern Europe and migrate south in winter. These are insectivores which feed either in the air or running on the ground.
