We sailed to Stanley Island in the Flinders Group on Australia's northeast coast to see old aboriginal paintings. It was a windy, wavy day, so sailing was tricky. Adding to the thrill was the knowledge that there might be crocodiles. We reefed the sail by wrapping some of it around the mast, and that made sailing much safer. We were startled at one point when a dugong suddenly swam away, but we had a safe expedition.
