In Trinidad and Tobago this is called "Cocrico" and is one of the two national birds (along with the Scarlet Ibis). It is also found in northeastern Colombia and northern Venezuela. It eats fruit and seeds and is an agricultural pest. These are very social birds. They are very noisy, especially at dawn when males and females call back and forth repeatedly. (Tobago) |
