This subspecies is endemic only to Tobago, though the species has members from Venezuela down through the Amazon basin. They eat fruit and some insects. Males display in pairs on a lek (a special small branch) while hidden females watch to select mates. Newton George observes this mating behavior many times each season and had never seen three on a lek before this. (Tobago) |
