Women of the San Blas Islands are all short, typically less than 5 feet tall. We spent a month in those islands and enjoyed meeting these proud people, descendents of the original Carib Indians. They were never conquered by the Spanish and joined Panama with the right to control their own territory. They wear traditional costumes and live relatively traditional lifestyles even today.
