This meteorite is located 25km west of Grootfontein. It is billed as the world's largest, weighing 54,000kg (about 60 tons). Its composition is 82 percent iron,16 percent nickel and 0.8 percent cobalt. It was discovered in 1920 and nobody knows when it fell to earth. After seeing this we went to the lovely Meteorite Campground nearby for the night.
