Our driver was an expert with five years experience in the sand, but he still got bogged down once when he had to slow up for the Land Rover ahead. Getting stuck is such a common occurrence, and so potentially dangerous, that desert tour operators almost never go alone. They spoke of some places as "Land Rover graveyards." After both drivers worked on the problem for about 10 minutes, we were able to resume our tour.
