The dunes move about 20 meters per year, blown by the wind. The faces of the dunes are very steep but their angle never exceeds 35 degrees. Our expert guides delighted in driving (very slowly and carefully) straight down these faces. The sand under the wheels made a special noise called "Brom" on these descents.
