San San Win was the cook and owner of the San Thi Dar Restaurant with her husband Khin Maung Oo. She and Nina became very friendly, although neither spoke the other's language. Not only did she give us extra food, she also gave Nina a lacquerware bracelet. Nina couldn't think of any way to reciprocate, then remembered that she had a bottle of perfume to give away. The next day San San Win refused to let us pay anything for our lunch and again gave us extra food and fruit. She was a wonderful and generous lady.
