We stayed at the "Golden Village" guest house in Nyuang U for the five nights we spent in Bagan. It was a reasonably comfortable place, where we rented bicycles which enabled us to visit the entire Bagan area. Breakfast was included in the price, and we had our own little bungalow. We usually had our own "happy hour" with rum on our private porch.
