Sportive Lemurs are usually nocturnal so we were very lucky to see three at Ankarana in the daytime. We believe this was a Milne-Edwards Sportive Lemur (Lepilemur edwardsi). They have powerful back legs and are able to make long leaps between trees. Unlike the Crowned and Sanford's Lemurs which usually leaped away from us through the branches, these posed nicely so we were able to get excellent photos of these endearing creatures.
