Sanford's Lemurs (Eulemur sanfordi) frequently were glimpsed leaping through treetops in the Ankarana Reserve. They were easily distinguished from Crowned Lemurs by their black faces and browner fur. Males like this had white "beards." There were reputed to be ten species of lemur in the park but we saw only the three most common.
