This elegant three-story building was built in 1867 for the Danish Colonial Council. The ironwork around its balconies was very intricate. At the time of our visit it was the elected governor's center of operations. In the lobby were two small paintings by French Impressionist painter Camille Pissarro (1830-1903) who was born and raised in St Thomas.
