In Long island's Salt Pond on June 3-5 the course ended right off the yacht club. We anchored near the finish line, as did several other boats. In approaching this area, the racers sometimes came close to anchored boats, and one yacht had its bow pulpit damaged in a collision. "Silent Partner" once came so close to the end of our schooner that its prys actually flew over our dinghy davits! Jerry was so shocked that he failed to get a photo until after the boat had passed.
