Skaapeiland Island divides Saldanha Bay into two parts. The northern part is a relatively deep commercial harbor while the southern part is a shallow lagoon and wildlife preserve. This is the view to the northeast from a hilltop in the Postberg section of the West Coast National Park. Across from Postberg and near this island is the resort town of Langebaan.
