Ship-Entering
Next Photo

Saldanha Bay entrance is approximately 33 degrees 4 minutes South and 17 degrees 55 minutes East. Large ships move in and out regularly to load iron ore at the long dock sticking out toward the entrance. The town of Saldanha is at the northern end of the bay and the resort town of Langebaan is on the east side. The southern end of the bay is shallow, world-famous for birds, and part of the West Coast National Park. We usually anchored near the friendly Saldanha Bay Yacht Club but left our boat at Yachtport when away for several months.
