The White-billed Buffalo Weaver (Bubalornis albirostris) is a resident breeding bird species in most of Africa south of the Sahara Desert. This common weaver occurs in open country and is a communal breeder. We saw this nest in Kruger National Park. Massive untidy stick nests like this may contain several spherical woven nests, up to 300 chambers in a large colony. The nests of some Weavers are the largest nests made by any bird. |
