Bontebok (Damaliscus pygargus dorcas) are the rarest of all antelope. They were once found throughout the southern part of South Africa but were nearly driven to extinction. They now exist only in a few reserves, especially the Bontebok National Park created primarily to save the last herds. We saw several of these beautiful animals in the Postberg Reserve beside Saldanha Bay. |
