Much cruising aboard "Ladyslipper" ending with many fine days moving slowly from Ossining, NY through Long Island Sound to Great Bay Marina in Portsmouth, NH.
Searched for a big boat for liveaboard cruising. We were not enthusiastic about any of the fiberglass offerings even though most seemed seaworthy and had the latest electronics and other recommended features. Found the beautiful custom steel schooner "Charlotte Jean" up the St. Johns River in Florida and loved it despite its lack of modern features. Spent time aboard with the original owner and learned some of what was needed to run its engine and sails. Had a survey done and purchased the boat in November.
Drove back to New England for the holidays. Purchased a used 65-pound CQR in Maine to use as primary anchor.
