We have an "Icer" combination refrigerator and freezer, a real luxury on a boat. It is a DC electrical unit run off our main batteries. It uses quite a lot of power but we feel it is worthwhile in the tropics where we like to sail. With all our solar panels we almost never need to run engines to keep this fridge/freezer operating.
