Bennington grew up on Ambae Island and moved to Epi when she married Apia. At the Melanesian Festival of Arts we met Bennington's Auntie who still lives on Ambae. She and her friends demonstrated the traditional process of using natural dyes on pandanus for colorful woven mats.
