Yala has about 35 Leopards. Leopards in most places hunt at night and hide during the day. However, at Yala these are the top predators with no competition from lions or tigers so they are often seen in daylight. Many tourists are not lucky enough to see any during their short tour but we saw three. This was our first, and it stayed mostly hidden during the half-hour we watched it.
