Ella Gap is a space between hills where a road drops nearly 1000 feet to the relatively flat plain below. Little Adams Peak is on one side of the top and Ella Rock is on the other side. We rode a bus to Wellawaya on the road which weaves along the mountainside down through this gap. The driver seemed to be a daredevil (like all Sri Lankan bus drivers) and we were happy when we got past the sections with long dropoffs.
