During Cyclone Zoe, Tikopia had no way of communicating to the rest of the world. Afterwards, New Zealand donated a short wave radio, a battery, and several solar panels. Now the system had failed and the islanders could not diagnose or fix the problem. Jerry found that the solar panel was not working, hooked up a spare and got the radio operating again.
