Pita may be the best craftsman and most gifted artist we encountered in the Solomons. He lives at Mbareho Village on Nono Lagoon, but his work has been shown in Australia. He is an expert carver, and is starting to do woodblock prints on paper which he makes himself. This design reminded us of M. C. Escher, but Pita has probably never heard of him.
