This tipnol belongs to Balanda, and is one of the best in Ailuk. The outrigger always is kept on the upwind side when sailing. The hull has the symmetry necessary for sailing in either direction. The rudder can be attached at either end, and the bottom corner of the sail is attached at the other end. While tacking seemed difficult to us at first, we learned that they do it fairly quickly.
