Most local boats were simple because their owners could not afford more. This sail was very unusual with its large painting of a tree. We also noticed the dinghy was painted to match the big boat. The icons at the top of the sail indicate a connection to Islam, one religion of the Malagasy people. This boat was sailing through many moored and anchored yachts - standard procedure for local working crafts.
