Jean-Mpier (probably a corruption of the French name "Jean-Pierre") was the chief of all villages in Andranoaomby Bay. He was our guide to his home village of Bobatrirata and the village garden areas. He came to our boat several times and we did a great deal of trading with him for fruits and vegetables.
