Tenukai is showing his father's shark hook and the rattle used to attract the sharks. They still fish for sharks, but not as much as in the past when Taniau Village had thirty 30' canoes. Now they have only small canoes, plus a few small motorboats, and fish mostly in the lagoon. Tenukai has earned $1500 per month working on container ships, and has seen some of the world beyond Kiribati.
