At the Camp Leaky feeding station piles of bananas and some drinking water are provided twice per day. There are occasional visits by wild orangutans, but most of the customers have been rescued from illegal pet and zoo operators and are not completely adjusted to life in the wilds. Birute Galdikas established this camp in 1971 and she and other researchers have studied and helped orangutans here ever since.
