"Copra" is simply the dried meat of coconuts. This is still an important product in remote Pacific Islands. The copra is often dried in the sun, but sometimes woodfires are used to dry it. Islanders like this Taveuni man are very adept at splitting the tough nuts and extracting the white meat. No doubt his son will become an expert too.
