Black-tipped Sharks grow to about five feet in length and are not normally aggressive. They were seen in both atolls practically every time we went snorkeling. We became so accustomed to seeing them swimming near us that we practically ignored them. Some cruisers made a habit of throwing the unwanted results of fishing expeditions to the sharks. This photo shows some of a resulting feeding frenzy in which about twenty sharks participated.
