Frigate Birds are magnificent flyers with wings spreading seven feet from tip to tip. Their wing span to body weight ratio is the greatest of all birds and they are amazingly maneuverable. Unlike most sea birds they cannot land safely on the water because their feathers would quickly become waterlogged. They pick fish from the water surface with their bills or attack other birds causing them to drop fish which the Frigates then catch in the air. |
