On the dock was a flatbed trailer loaded with shiny metal ingots and another truck with hoppers of chromium ore. A large aluminum smelter was nearby with a tremendous number of electrical power lines leading to it. Radio reception was poor in Richards Bay and we believe that was caused by the aluminum plant.
