Just inside Knysna Heads is this building housing the local chapter of the National Sea Rescue Institute. This wonderful volunteer organization will go out in practically any conditions to assist boats in distress. At Knysna they are the ones to contact for information, since there are no port authorities and nobody monitors VHF channel 16.
