The pinrail around the mainmast holds traditional wooden belaying pins to secure halyards and other lines. The gaff sails, the fisherman and gollywobbler each have two halyards, while topsails need a sheet as well as halyard, so these pins are sometimes in great demand. The blocks are lignum vitae with bronze roller bearings - extremely strong and reliable. |
