The wooden bowsprit sticks out past the stem about five feet, and is supported by a chain bobstay and whisker stays. A forestay wire with bronze turnbuckle and a roller-furling jib are attached to the cranse iron at the bowsprit end. The sixty pound CQR has always been our main anchor. |
