"Ladyslipper" had several steps leading up from the interior to the cockpit. A sliding hatch covered the top of the companionway and two drop boards were inserted to close the rest of the opening. We had some drop boards of solid wood, some of solid plexiglass, and some with bug screen inserts. It was also possible to padlock the entrance for times when the boat was unattended.
