Brown Fur Seals (Arctocephalus pusillus) also known as Cape Fur Seals and South African Fur Seals had several rookeries along the Skeleton Coast. We visited the one at Cape Cross. Males weighed up to 800 pounds and females 260 pounds. All the pups were born around the first of December so were about one month old when we visited.
