The boat we took from Mytkyina to Sinbo was long and narrow with a "longtail" engine. We could climb out the windows onto the roof, and Jerry spent hours up there with his camera. For 8,000 kyats we were under way from 9:45 until our arrival in Sinbo at 2:30, except for the 11 stops we made to deliver goods or drop off passengers or pick up new passengers. We didn't leave until the fog lifted enough for the captain to see both shores of the Irrawaddy River.
