These canoes have narrow hulls and very narrow outriggers which move through the water with little resistance. They usually sail in steady trade winds on a straight course in flat water for several miles. Weight distribution and sail and rudder angles can be adjusted to keep the outrigger flying and speed near maximum. This sail shows many patches. A new sail is a relatively major investment.
