Here is a chart of Addu Atoll, the southernmost of the Maldives. "Arctracer" used the pass at the southeastern corner and found it very deep (about 60 feet minimum) and free of obstacles. There is a very small yacht harbour next to the causeway linking Gan to the other islets. The entrance to this yacht harbour is narrow and not very deep, so many yachts anchor outside. Gan was a British air base during World War II and has the atoll's airport. There are resorts on some islets, separated from most of the atoll's 30,000 residents. |
