Indians in Savusavu, including our friend Sami, were usually the middlemen of the kava business. Farmers sold roots to them, and they did the drying, repackaging and selling to end users. Ram(17) and Bobby(25) work with Sami, and here they are making huge bundles of dried roots. We bought small bundles to present to village chiefs as "sevusevu" offerings.
