This is a Northern Mockingbird (Mimus polyglottos) closely related to the Bahama Mockingbird (Mimus gundlachii). These are the most common Mockingbirds in North America and are found as far south as the Greater Antilles. They sing many different songs throughout the day. In the nineteenth century these were often kept in cages just for their music. |
